Hi everyone,
We have recently had our very first child & we just can't seem to catch a break.
At first our daughter was born prematurely @ 36.5 weeks. She was just 2.485kg & wouldn't latch on to the boob, so she ended up with Jaundice & off to the SCN... We got her home & it seemed she was going to be just fine, sleeping like a trooper. Then the tummy problems started, she seemed to suffer from colic, then she couldn't drink without crying (she was clearly in pain) so we switched from NAN HA formula to S26 Gold, this worked for 2 days, And the tummy problems were better, but then she was having problems feeding again (crying in pain as she drank). She was diagnosed with silent reflux so we were advised to thicken her formula using some Karicare Food Thickener. We did this & she was the happiest baby ever for 2 days again... And now the tummy troubles are back.
At the moment she has Gripe Water in her feeds, and I've just started putting infants Friend in again as this seemed to help her bowels last time. She's tried all the ones on the market, Infacol did jack & both Gripe water & infants friend were individually good for different reasons.
It's very stressful & frustrating & I was just wondering if anyone had the same troubles & what kind of solutions they came up with? I'm thinking of changing her to a soy formula or something to see if that helps... But I don't know if that's the problem ????
